Recovery is just different as an older adult

Let’s face it, life as an older adult is not the same as life for someone in their teens or early 20s. As an older adult, the added pressures of work, family, friendships, and bills can become overwhelming. The obstacles and triggers faced in sobriety as an older adult are much different than those faced by young adults. We understand. Victory Bay Recovery Center offers an Older Adults Treatment System (O.A.T.S). It’s a treatment track exclusively for adults ages 27 and up.

About Our Older Adults Treatment System (O.A.T.S)

The Older Adults Treatment System track will be available in both Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) programs.

Intensive Outpatient Program for Older Adults

Intensive Outpatient offers a more in-depth focus on recovery, relapse prevention, and community integration. Within IOP, there are two options. IOP-5 is a five-day per week program, averaging two to three weeks in length, depending on a client’s progress and needs. IOP-3 is a three-day per week program, averaging approximately 12 weeks.

Outpatient Older Adults Addiction Treatment in New Jersey

Outpatient (OP) care is the least intensive service offered in our Older Adults Treatment Program at Victory Bay. OP is a combination of one individual therapy per week and up to three group sessions per week. Outpatient care is also typically the step-down from IOP, once a client has achieved stabilization and has made progress towards goals identified in IOP. OP is the final level of care in which the focus is on fully re-integrating clients with their home and family, job, and community.
